Two exhibitions, two perspectives where plastic research relies on the know-how of ancestral crafts such as mosaic or the manufacture of paper; which will lead the visitors of the museum to the discovery of two female artistic universes. Nathalie Chaulaic, mosaique and Aide Bernard, paper artist.
Nathalie Chaulaic possesses this singular ability to inscribe mosaic in modernity and contemporary artistic creation.
Like a painter who composes a painting with successive touches or a sculptor who kneads, distorts, shapes, models her work, Nathalie Chaulaic needs to have a raw relation to the material, to undo to redo, to repeat this same safe gesture to place the tesserae in its right place, until the only perceptible moment when the artist delivers a definitive composition.
The fruit of a long process of creation in which she has the gift of marrying mineral and organic matter unexpectedly, she possesses this patience and inner strength to reveal the beautiful, harmony, that rare finesse that is not delivered at first glance and that finds its power in the details of the work.
Discreet in nature and nourished by an eclectic sensitivity, Nathalie Chaulaic pursues an atypical path and in the image of curves, reflections, diversions, breaks and variations of her creations, she offers us the most intimate sensations and emotions, as an inevitable phenomenon that sublimates our perception.
His works impose themselves on us and send us back to our own pieces of life, with subtlety and grace, waiting for the next surprises that this artist has in store for us … to follow.
